Conducting research along with multiple other academic activities is not a simple thing. It requires hard work, determination and constant motivation. In such a scenario, some leisure time comes quite handy if you want to relax and rejuvenate yourself. However, you need to save your time out of research if you want to experience this luxury. Here are some tips that can help you in saving time while pursuing research. Check these out.

Make effective plans

After your proposal is approved, start on the planning work. Make an outline of what all you need to do during the entire research process. Set up manageable and easy goals for completing these tasks on a regular basis. Make sure your deadline goals are comfortable to achieve. This will make you achieve them well on time, save your efforts, and keep you motivated.

Keep aside spare time and prioritize work

If you want to avoid stress in those last moments when submission timelines approach, then prioritize your tasks in advance. Finish urgent tasks first so you can get more time at a later stage. You may also set some spare time before your final deadline for thesis submission. This time can be used to cover up on such activities that still require a final touch.

Make use of mobile apps

There are several smartphone apps that can be used to set goals and track them. You can also create project maps and To-Do lists on these apps. Use such tools to save a lot of your planning time.

Track progress to work faster

Setting goals is not sufficient. It is also important to keep a check on your progress on these goals. If you are lagging somewhere, change your strategies well in advance. You can avoid wasting time at a later stage. You can also pair up some tasks that can be done together. Finally, work according to your style and efficiency level.

How Management Domains Started

6/22/2014

Classical researches across the world are mostly being carried out on basic domains of academics, like pure Science, Mathematics, Economics, English, and History etc. However, a time came, when the industrial world demanded something beyond these domains of academics, as with the changing business scenario, these academic domains were gradually losing its significance, because these domains were not at all interdisciplinary in nature. The industrial world demanded cross domain research in order to combat the issues being arisen due to complex business scenarios. That was the reason the academic domains of management came into existence. If looked upon closely, then it can be seen that all the domains of management are derived out of the conglomerations of several basic academic disciplines.

In order to run a firm, one of the basic requirements is to produce a product or design a service. To fulfill the requirement, the operations management domain management came into existence. It was just an extension of production and mechanical engineering science, which incorporated the laying out of production facilities with a view to facilitate the production process. Once produced, the costing and budgeting of the product has to be done. For this purpose, finance domain came into existence. This domain was a combination of economics and accountancy. Later, psychological aspects also came into the picture of finance in terms of utility and expected utility. Now, once the products are produced, they are needed to be sold in the market. To fulfill this requirement, marketing domain came into existence. Economics, with a blend of psychology and just common sense had given birth to this domain. However, in order to run the entire enterprise, it is required to have a competent and consistent labor force, and this given birth to organizational behavior and human resource, a blend of psychology and economics. How to use Qualitative Research Methods?

8/6/2012

Well before settling down for undertaking a research work, it is very important to decide upon the methodology to be used for the same. Today, most of the scholars use the qualitative method of conducting a research. As per this method, the scholars collect only a limited amount of information about a large number of cases pertaining to the research topic.

One of the best strategies to be followed while using the qualitative research method is using a questionnaire survey. As per this questionnaire survey, you can ask a series of already-framed questions related to the subject on which you are conducting your research. You can choose to ask the questions as per two methods. As per the first method, the questions can be pre-coded i.e. your respondent can choose among a range of responses for a particular question and as per the second method i.e. open-ended, you can allow your responder to give an answer in his/her own words and this answer can further be coded or analyzed.

Another means of using the qualitative research method is utilizing the sampling techniques in order to get a representative sample, such as using a random sample or a quota sample. Once you are done with your survey, the data collected from each question on the survey can be combined to provide numerical data for that question. This data can then be analyzed through various quantitative methods such as comparing the percentages of answers to different questions based on the unique traits of the respondents, obtaining an average or median for rating or ranking data or doing a correlation or regression analysis. Nowadays, research scholars also use the e-mail survey method as per which they send a questionnaire to the people and ask them to answer the same. This helps these scholars in gathering a good amount of data for research purposes. Qualitative research method is considered to be the best method for collecting large chunks of data and presenting the same in a compact and easy-to-understand manner.
